Clinical Color Atlas and Manual of Pediatric Ophthalmology, Strabismus and Neuro-Ophthalmology (Volume 1 and Volume 2)

Author: Karthikeyan Arcot Sadagopan

The Clinical Color Atlas and Manual of Pediatric Ophthalmology, Strabismus and Neuro-Ophthalmology written by Dr Karthikeyan Arcot Sadagopan with contributions from 13 colleagues who combine to give the virtues of youth, vigor and experience. The authors’ own illustrations have been augmented by photographs donated by an overlapping 36 contributors, enough to achieve the good stock of illustrative photographs so necessary in an Atlas. The text descriptions and discussions are generous, making it much more useful than a picture book. The illustrations were of excellent quality. Much of the chapter on ‘Neuro-Ophthalmology’ (chapter 16) is dedicated to the eliciting of signs which is an example of how this book will help trainees to get a good start in the profession. The image richness of this book (for instance, chapter 2, ‘Pediatric Oculoplasty and Lacrimal Disorders’ has 127 often multipart images) reflects the authors’ breadth and depth of experience with a blend of images and didactic text which will be popular with trainees for years to come, eager to quickly expand their diagnostic repertoire.
